I’m Karla and I’m the first teacher to successfully complete the new MamaBabyBliss Teacher Training programme. This new programme launched in January 2017 allowing people with no previous experience to qualify in the full set of classes and workshops in less than one year.
I found MamaBabyBliss when I went to baby massage and yoga with my own daughter. The classes really were the highlight of my week and gave me so much confidence as a mother. The support I received from my teacher, Sarah, and the other mums in the class during the dedicated chat time was invaluable and that’s what I feel sets MamaBabyBliss apart from other companies.
The thought of going back to my job in General Practice Management and leaving my daughter filled me with dread and I wanted to find a career that would fit around my family. Something about MamaBabyBliss drew me in and I was determined to train in this field and share the bliss with other mums.
After doing some research I discovered that MamaBabyBliss offered so much more than the 2-3 classes I had attended and for the first time they were offering a training programme that covered an entire curriculum of classes covering from pregnancy to when babies are 3 years old. From a business perspective this was very enticing and also meant I would be able to reach more women and share my newfound passion.
After taking the leap and booking my place on the training, I soon discovered that joining MamaBabyBliss isn’t just about licensing a franchise, it’s joining a family of passionate, inspirational teachers headed up by founder, Justina Perry, who keeps her mission to support expectant mothers, mothers and babies at the centre of the company.
The training is of an exceptionally high standard and I won’t pretend it was easy. This didn’t deter me; it made me realise the quality of the classes I would be offering and helped me to expand my knowledge.
I started my training in January 2017 with the PregnancyBliss module. I had to go out in the field and complete case study classes and one-to-one sessions. This was quite daunting but I was well equipped with everything I needed because the training package includes essential class equipment such as mats and yoga balls.
Whilst out in the field completing case studies and progressing through the other modules in the curriculum, I was able to check in with the trainers and other qualified teachers for support and guidance. I also formed friendships with my fellow trainees and we were able to support one another through the training.
Although it has been challenging at times to juggle the training, case studies, motherhood and having to return to my current job, I’m glad I had the opportunity to learn the whole curriculum in such a short space of time. I’ve been able to touch base with the trainers and other experienced teachers frequently throughout the year, which has given me extra motivation and allowed me to ask for business advice on a regular basis.
The support I have received doesn’t end here even though I’m now a fully qualified practitioner; MamaBabyBliss will continue to support me in aspects of business start-up, social media, marketing and administration and the close network of teachers means that someone is always at the end of the telephone to offer advice and assistance.
I am now a week following my final training module and my first real class is about to start. It’s very exciting, albeit nerve-racking, seeing ladies invest their time and money in me but I am con dent that the training I’ve received and the knowledge I’ve gained along with my passion for supporting other mums will allow me to provide my customers with a fantastic class.
My goals for the next 100 days include providing the women in my area with a superb pregnancy class, build up my reputation within my territory and I am aiming to be in a position to resign from my current employment and build up my timetable. The structure of the curriculum means that I can build up my business at my own pace.
My favourite part about joining MamaBabyBliss so far has been attending the 2017 Away Day, the annual conference for MamaBabyBliss Teachers. Being a part of MamaBabyBliss is being part of a family and we are all made to feel valued and we all share in the MamaBabyBliss mission and vision.
If you are considering setting up your own business and share a passion for supporting women and babies through this significant stage in their lives then I would highly recommend training with MamaBabyBliss and joining our family.
