Why train with us?
Insurance companies now require therapists to have a stand-alone pregnancy massage certification. All of our courses and training have international accreditation with the IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine) and we also deliver massage training to the NHS.
To meet the national insurance criteria for training in pregnancy massage, you need to hold a pre-qualification equivalent to a Level 3 in body massage (e.g. Holistic, Swedish, Sports, Aromatherapy). A Level 3 in beauty therapy that includes a massage component is also accepted.
Expert training
Our aim is to ensure that you feel confident working with pregnant clients. Developed to the highest standard, the training is easily completed online in your own time and environment. It is a combination of written coursework and you will need to submit three practical pregnancy massage case studies. These can be with three different clients or the same one. Due to the intimacy of the treatment, you are not required to submit photographic or video evidence but written self-reflective evaluations. Your submission is marked by the training director.
- Your training includes a full manual and a 75 minute training video (to view a clip, click here). The syllabus includes:
- Common Ailments During Pregnancy
- How Massage Can Aid Particular Ailments During Pregnancy

- Considerations for a Consultation
- Contraindications for Pregnancy Massage

Testimonials
The best part for me was reading about the stages of pregnancy in the manual as I had no idea about each stage of pregnancy and what a woman’s body goes through. This makes it good for me to understand my client’s needs better. I also enjoy performing a pregnancy massage. It’s very fulfilling to be able to help someone relax during which can be one of the most stressful times of their lives.
Remi Green
It’s given me the confidence to offer massage to pregnant women. It feels very rewarding to help expectant mums to relax and reduce the muscular aches and pains associated with pregnancy.
Nikki Kennard
I really enjoyed the practical side of the coursework. The written coursework really complemented the practical side and made sure I knew exactly what I was doing when performing the treatment and why.
Vikki Peart
I enjoyed the case study with pregnant women and having the opportunity to ask for feedback from them for the case study aspect. The ability to stop the video and return to an example massage was extremely helpful.
Michelle Green
Practical to get some real experience and be start using your knowledge you have gained from the reading and video.

Kim Loney
The actual client case studies were my favourite part as I really enjoyed seeing the positive impact on my client.
I loved the case studies as this gave me a chance to put it all into practice, make the treatment as good as I could and gain confidence.
Vicky Barbour
I enjoyed watching the videos and putting the massage into practice, also how much information that was given about contraindication I have found very useful. Also including massage during labour and postnatal is an excellent idea so you can follow your client through their journey.

That I was able to do this from home in my own time- it’s the only course I’ve found that has enabled me to do this. I still feel confident and knowledgeable enough to start doing pregnancy massage.
