My name is Justina and I am the founder of MamaBabyBliss. This year it will be 15 years since we started MamaBabyBliss. After my daughter Alana was born. I had been made redundant and having had a traumatic birth experience and postnatal depression after the birth of my first daughter Natasha, I really wanted to do something to help and support mums.
I trained in baby massage and started my small MamaBabyBliss mother and baby classes in North London. That was in 2006 and over fifteen years we have grown into a social enterprise and international franchise and helped tens of thousands of mums and babies. More about that tomorrow!
My proudest ‘professional’ moments are winning an ‘inspiring woman’ business award, being featured on TV and being a speaker at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists World Congress. I’ve also been privileged to work with brands such as Pampers, Mothercare & Mamas & Papas as an expert.
I never thought I would run a company of this scale and I’ll let you into a secret. I don’t even know how to write a business plan! MamaBabyBliss has grown organically from the following things:
- A deep-seated desire to make a difference and help others. This isn’t just a job. It’s my vocation.
- Being surrounded by an awesome tribe of people who share the same passion.
- Massive amounts of determination and the ability to weather a number of storms (like two recessions and a pandemic).
- Loving what I do. My inspiration will always be the mothers and babies in my classes and with every baby born, I still cry.
